Isbel ich III x Golf -ioa• STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF TARRANT CITY OF GRAPEVINE The Golf Course Advisory Board of the City of Grapevine, Texas met in regular session on this 18th day of October 2012 at 5:00 p.m. at the Grapevine Golf Course, 3800 Fairway Drive, with the following members present: Gary Davis Member Louis Capone Member Danny Langley Member Tom Kormondy Member John Springer Member Shelley Ruddick Member Jonathan Wall Member Constituting a quorum, with the following members of the City Staff. Russell Pulley Director of Golf John McGrane Director of Administrative Services Mike Lease City Council Member Sid McCleskey Head Golf Professional Merlin Tielkemeier Superintendent CALL TO ORDER Danny Langley called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. CITIZEN COMMENTS There were no Citizens in attendance that wished to address the Golf Advisory Board. ITEM 1— GRAPEFEST GOLF TOURNAMENT John Springer, Chairman for the golf tournament, reported it had been a great day. There were 72 players which netted $6,500.00 for the CONNECT charity. A letter from CONNECT was presented by Mr. Springer who also announced that CONNECT will be the charity for next year. ITEM 2- GRAPEFEST BOOTH REVIEW Shelly Ruddick advised that participation at the booth was wonderful with lots of volunteers and participation by the golf team. Tom Kormondy stated that in his opinion is that the booth needed more staff. It was too plain and needed more "glitz". The putting contest put on by Southwest Greens was a great attraction with over a hundred slips in the drawing. Discussion followed with different suggestions on possible up grades to the booth. It was decided to address Grapefest at the regular April 2013 meeting. ITEM 3 — UPDATE FROM MERLIN TIELKEMEIER ON COURSE MAINTENANCE Merlin Tielkemeier updated the Board on the maintenance that was being done on the course stating the summer went well. They were presently cleaning out areas in the native grass and Bluebonnet flowers had been planted to the right of #3 tee on the Bluebonnet 9. CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES Tom Kormondy made the motion to approve the July minutes and was seconded by Mike Lease. ADJOURNMENT The motion to adjourn was made by Tom Kormondy and a second was made by Shelley Ruddick.
