HomeMy WebLinkAbout2022-03-02STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF TARRANT CITY OF GRAPEVINE The Animal Shelter Advisory Committee of the City of Grapevine, Texas met in Regular Session on the 2"d day of March, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. at Grapevine Animal Services, 500 Shady Brook Dr., Grapevine, Texas 76051, with the following members present to -wit: Tim Hall Chair, Grapevine Police Department Joy Mayo Member, Grapevine Citizen Sherri Olsen Member, Grapevine Citizen Corey Price Member, Animal Welfare Representative Nancy Snyder Member, Grapevine Citizen Jason Steinle Member, Veterinarian Kristina Valentine Member, Grapevine Animal Services constituting a quorum, and the following liaison present: Duff O'Dell, Grapevine City Council CALL TO ORDER Kristina Valentine called the meeting to order at 1:33 p.m. ITEM 1. CITIZEN COMMENTS No citizen comments submitted. ITEM 2. ELECT CHAIRPERSON Tim Hall was nominated for chairperson by Sherri Olsen. Nancy Snyder seconded. Tim Hall accepted the nomination. No other nominations were brought forth. Motion to elect Tim Hall as the chairperson prevailed by the following vote: Ayes: Hall, Mayo, Olsen, Price, Steinle, Snyder, Valentine Nays: None Absent: None 7-0-0 ITEM 3. REVIEW OF MINUTES Minutes for December 8, 2021 meeting were reviewed. submitted. Nancy Snyder seconded the motion. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes: Hall, Mayo, Olsen, Price, Steinle, Snyder, Valentine Nays: None Absent: None 7-0-0 ITEM 4. REVIEW OF STATISTICS Jason Steinle made a motion to accept the minutes as Statistics were reported as follows. GENERAL OPERATIONS UPDATE The committee was given an update on operations. Construction outstanding items: cat kennels are completed, minus a few items that can be done in the field. Working through needs to equip vet space and have a contract veterinarian. Staffing demand is being supported by temp agencies at this time. No action was taken by the committee. ITEM 6. UPCOMING EVENTS Vaccine clinics: 3/12, 4/30 (free rabies and located at Community Outreach Center), 6/11, 9/10, 12/10 Clear the Shelters: Summer 2022 Microchip event and Open House: April 23, 2022 Summer reading events —one each month of summer with activities for children. June, July, August 2 3/2/2022 No action taken by the committee. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business to come before the Committee, Sherri Olsen offered a motion to adjourn the meeting at 2:05 p.m. and Jason Steinle seconded.
