Replacement of an existing eight inch cast iron pipe water line with an eight inch PVC line in Eckley Street between Wall Street and Easy Street
The 31 st Year CDBG project proposed the replacement of the waterline in Eckley Street
between Wall Street and Walnut Street. As expected, funds allocated in the past year's
CDBG program and the City's participation were insufficient to meet the cost of the project.
We are proposing that the remainder of the costs be funded from the 32nd year CDBG
allocations and to extend the project to connect to Easy Street.
We do not know the total funds that will be made available through this year's CDBG
program. If CDBG funding plus City match funding does not meet the cost of construction
after the bid opening, the City will be allowed to fund the remainder of the cost, or the
project may be reduced in scope.
This area is located in the Original Town of Grapevine, CDBG Target Area, designated as
census tract 1137.052 in the 2000 Census.
These improvements will contribute to the upgrade of the area by providing an improved
water supply system and fire protection.
Staff recommends approval.
