SUBJECT: CONSIDER APPROVAL OF AN ADOPT -AN -AREA
AGREEMENT WTH DISCOVER KAYAK FOR MCPHERSON
SLOUGH FROM THE SHORELINE AT W. KIMBALL ROAD AND
LAKERIDGE DRIVE NORTHWEST TO THE GROUP BOAT
DOCK
RECOMMENDATION:
Council consider approval an Adopt -An -Area agreement with Discover Kayak for the
area listed above. A copy of the agreement and map of the proposed adopted area are
attached for review.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Adopt -A -Road signage would be placed at both ends of these areas. The total cost of
the signage for this is approximately $150 and will come from the Grounds Maintenance
Account 100 - 42205- 312 -3.
BACKGROUND:
The proposed agreement is for a period of two years and requires the applicant to pick
up litter a minimum of six times per year. The Parks & Recreation Advisory Board
approved the agreement at their August 11 th meeting. The Board and staff recommend
approval of the agreement.
