HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem 06 - Adopt-an-Area Agreements ITEM. -.- MEMO TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL FROM BRUNO RUMBELOW, CITY MANAGER p� MEETING DATE: DECEMBER 1, 2009 SUBJECT: CONSIDER APPROVAL OF AN ADOPT-AN-AREA AGREEMENTS RECOMMENDATION: The Parks & Recreation Advisory Board and staff recommend the Council approve Adopt- An-Area agreements with the following families/organizations: Family/Organization Adopt-An-Area • The Deem Family Katie's Woods/Chris Craft to Vineyard View • The Ophrey Family Farris Branch Road to Murrell Road • The Halman Family Swim Beach at Meadowmere Park east 1/2 mile along shoreline • The Mower Family Trawick Trail Boat Ramp to Scott's Landing • Pampered Home Pro Hughes Road — Hall-Johnson Road to SH 121 Service Road • Grapevine Cowboy Jackson pavilion at Rockledge Park Heritage Church FUNDING SOURCE: Adopt-A-Road signage would be placed at both ends of these areas. The total cost of the signage for this is approximately $500 and will come from the Grounds Maintenance Account 100-42205-312-3. BACKGROUND: The proposed agreements are for a period of two years and require the applicants to pick up litter a minimum of six times per year. The Parks & Recreation Advisory Board and staff recommend approval of the agreements. The Parks & Recreation Advisory Board approved the agreements at the November 19, 2009 meeting.
