FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the following accounts: • Utility Bonds Account# 200-48930-534-1-000021WA • GO Bonds Account# 178-78106-012 BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Change Order# 2 addresses the following items: Future Driveway Connections at the First Baptist Church site. (GO Bonds) 280 SY Concrete Driveway Apron $16,800.00 On a project of this type, we normally construct the driveway aprons to the abutting properties with the roadway pavement construction. The church did not have the two driveway locations tied down at the time of project bidding but have been able to provide us the locations since then. Replace Lime Stabilized Subgrade with Cement Stabilized Subgrade (GO Bonds) 26,586 SY Subgrade Treatment ($ 44,582.10) Initial pavement design anticipated majority of subgrade to require lime stabilization based on soil samples. More through analysis of soils after the entire roadway route had been exposed and many more soil samples had been taken reveals a much higher percentage of the soils along the route require cement stabilization rather than lime. This is a less expensive process that is used for soils with a much lower potential for expansion. This profile lowering necessitated the lowering of the existing 12"waterline adjacent to the west curb of the roadway for a length of 700 ft. Staff recommends approval.
