SUBJECT: CONSIDER APPROVAL TO PURCHASE REPLACEMENT
DUMP TRUCKS
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council to consider approval to purchase finro dump trucks from Bruckner Truck
Sales, Inc. in the total amount of$229,956.00.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funds are budgeted in accounts 325-48910-535-10-2010 Capital Equipment/Machinery
Purchase Fund/Motor Vehicles/Stormwater Drainage/FY 2010 Capital Purchases and
325-48910-415-10-2010 Capital EquipmenUMachinery Purchase Fund/Motor
Vehicles/Public Works/FY 2010 Capital Purchases.
BACKGROUND:
This purchase will be made in accordance with a cooperative purchase agreement
with the State of Texas TXMAS program under contract number 7-23V020-8 as
allowed by Texas Local Government Code, Section 271.102. Contracts established
through the cooperative purchasing agreement satisfy all bidding requirements
under the Local Government Code. This contract is effective from November 10,
2006 through September 30, 2010.
This request is to replace units 15848 and 15858. Both trucks were approved for
replacement during the budget process for this fiscal year. Each vehicle has reached
the replacement criteria of life cycle cost, time in service and special circumstances.
The attachments show the current age of the replacement vehicles and the
approved replacement criteria for each vehicle.
Staff recommends approval of the purchase of the trucks from Bruckner Truck
Sales, Inc. in the total amount of $229,956.00.
