III. Citizen Comments
Any person who is not scheduled on the agenda may address the Senior Citizen
Advisory Board under Citizen Comments or on any other agenda item by completing
a Citizen Appearance Request form with the staff. A member of the public may
address the Senior Citizen Advisory Board regarding an item on the agenda either
before or during the Board’s consideration of the item, upon being recognized by the
Chairman or upon the consent of the Senior Citizen Advisory Board in accordance
with the Texas Open Meetings Act, the Senior Citizen Advisory Board is restricted in
discussing or taking action during Citizen Comments.

The City of Grapevine Parks & Recreation Senior Citizens Advisory Board met April 5, 2022 at 1:00
p.m. in The REC of Grapevine, 1175 Municipal Way, Grapevine, Texas with the following members
present, to -wit:

Tena Burrell called the meeting to order at 1:03 p.m.

A motion was made to approve the January 4, 2022 meeting minutes.

Presentations
Introduction of Nadia Gentry — Trent Kelley introduced Nadia Gentry, the Active Adults Supervisor.
Nadia provided am Active Adults update.
Trent Kelley provided additional updates, as well as current events happening at The REC.
Miscellaneous Board Items
Duff O'Dell was absent; therefore, no council update was given.
Teri Rhodes -Cantu gave a housing authority update. Opened up for people to make applications
Jan 13 -Jan 15, had in the range of 4,000 people apply with 900 within the first hour. Applications
were received from all over the US with the majority is 18-21 year olds. Have 98 units, with 2 units
being available.
Christine Szymaszek was absent; therefore, no GRACE update was given.
Isabelle Boyd gave an Active Adults update
Chris Smith gave a parks and recreation update — Provided updates on various upcoming events. He
mentioned the Governor's Community Award that was awarded to the City. The development of
Panhandle Park is progressing. Discussed details of the new landscaping contract.
