The total annual cost will be limited to the budgeted amount for this service. Attached is the original bid tabulation for review. FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in account 174-43301-093-000 (Transportation Infrastructure Maintenance). BACKGROUND: Bids were taken in accordance with Local Government Code Chapter 252, Subchapter B, Section 252.021 (a) and Section 252.041 (a). The bid advertisement posted in the Fort Worth Star Telegram and the Grapevine Sun on February 3, 2005 and February 10, 2005. Staff issued bid documents to five contractors. Two contractors responded to the invitation. Council originally approved this contract in FY05. The contract has four, one- year renewal options. This would be the fourth and final renewal option. The invitation requested pricing for the installation of various types and sizes of traffic conduit to be ordered on an as needed basis by the Traffic Department. Bids were received from Multiple Cable Systems and Durable Specialties, Inc. Multiple Cable Systems provided the lowest estimated annual cost. The original bid tabulation is attached for review. Multiple Cable Systems has conducted business with the City in the past, and has provided excellent service and has agreed to renew the contract with no increase in pricing. Staff recommends approval to renew the annual contract with Multiple Cable Systems.
