Able Electronics was the one bid that was received and met all of the specification
requirements requested in the invitation. Able Electronics is located in Colleyville and
has provided a quality product to the City in the past. The specifications requested a unit
price for a fully configured computer including startup software and accessories. The unit
price quoted by Able is $989.00 each. The specifications of the invitation is to maintain
fixed pricing for a one-year period with an option to renew the contract for four additional
one-year periods. Price adjustments may be renegotiated at the end of each contract
period.
To insure that the bid received was competitive, Staff reviewed the same computer
configuration currently under the State Department of Information Resources contract
for computers with Dell Computer Company. The same configuration under the State
contract would be $1,399.00.
Staff recommends the bid from Able Electronics be accepted and requests approval to
issue an annual contract to Able Electronics for computers.
