MEMO TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL FROM: BRUNO RUMBELOW, CITY MANAGER /J MEETING DATE: JULY 21, 2009 SUBJECT: MOVE-IN-BUILDING REQUEST MIB09-01 RECOMMENDATION Staff recommends the City Council consider a resolution authorizing approval of Move-In" Building Request MIB09-01, for property located at 729 East Dallas Road, filed by Faith Christian School, and take any necessary action. BACKGROUND INFORMATION This application was submitted by Ed Smith, representing Faith Christian School. Mr. Smith is proposing to move six temporary classroom buildings onto the property. These structures will be located to the north and behind the existing structure, in an area previously shown as the football field. Mr. Smith has submitted a letter committing to remove the buildings five years from the date of their relocation, with a single extension not to exceed two school years. The property is zoned "LI" Light Industrial District. Plans and building permit applications have been submitted, as well as all other submittal documents as required by Chapter 7 of the Grapevine Code of Ordinances. If Council approves this Move-in Building request, Conditional Use CU09-06 and Planned Development PD09-04, the Building Inspection Department will ensure that all aspects of the construction comply with adopted codes and ordinances. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF A PERMIT AUTHORIZING THE RELOCATION OF A BUILDING; PROVIDING FOR A NON-TRANSFERABLE PERMIT; PROVIDING A SITE PLAN AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, an application was filed to relocate a building on a particular tract of land; and WHEREAS, the building official investigated the application and determined that all requirements of the Building Code and other applicable ordinances had been or would be met; and WHEREAS,the City Manager,or his designated representative, set a date for public hearing about which proper notice was given. NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS: Section 1. That the above findings are hereby found to be true and correct and are incorporated herein in their entirety. Section 2. That Move-In Building Application MIB09-01 was filed by Faith Christian School to move-in three (3) buildings of approximately 3,904 square feet, three (3) buildings of approximately 575 square feet and three (3) buildings of approximately 169 square feet at 729 East Dallas Road, platted as Lot 1A, Block 1, Faith Christian School Addition, City of Grapevine, Tarrant County, Texas and is hereby approved. Section 3. That said permit is not transferable and shall apply only to the applicant heretofore mentioned. Section 4. That said permit be issued in accordance with the site plan attached as Exhibit "A". Section 5. That this resolution shall take effect from and after the date of its passage.
