SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF A RESOLUTION FOR THE SALE OF CITY
SURPLUS PROPERTY
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council to consider a resolution declaring the property listed in Attachment A as
surplus property and authorizes their sale through public auction.
BACKGROUND:
This request is to approve a resolution for the sale of surplus property as listed i
Attachment A.
The City currently has several vehicles, equipment, and other property deemed surplus
due to budget fleet replacements, equipment age or condition. Staff has considered
age, mileage, cost of operation and/or life to date maintenance costs when classifying
property as surplus.
Staff recommends approval of the resolution to declare the items listed in the
attachment as surplus and to schedule an auction for their disposal.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, DECLARING CERTAIN PROPERTY
SURPLUS AND/OR SALVAGE AND PROVIDING FOR THE
AUTHORIZATION TO DISPOSE OF SAID PROPERTY AT
AUCTION AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, it has been determined that the City of Grapevine, Texas is i
possession of items that are no longer used and of little or no value to the City and are
described in the list designated as "Attachment A"; and
WHEREAS, the procedure for notification of the owners of surplus and/or salvage
property as outlined in the State of Texas statute has been met.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1`.' , That all matters stated in the above preamble are true"and correct and
are incorporated herein as if copied in their entirety.
Section 2. That all items described in "Attachment A" to this resolution are hereby
declared surplus and/or salvage.
Section 3.: That the City Manager, or his designee, is hereby authorized to
schedule an auction for the purpose of offering for sale all items listed in "Attachment A"
and to obtain the best value possible for these items.
Section 4. That this resolution shall take effect from and after the date of its
passage.
PASSED. AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 1 st day of NOVEMBER, 2011.
