FOR
City Council to consider approval for the award of an informal request for quote for a
fiber splicing trailer for the Public Works Department from Mohawk Ltd.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funds for this purchase have been established in account 177-48860-101-002-2015
(Machinery & Equipment - Fiber) in the amount not to exceed $32,450.00.
Informal quotes were taken in accordance with City Purchasing Policy. Formal bids and
advertisements are not required for purchases under $50,000. Three vendors submitted
quotations as noted below. Mohawk Ltd. submitted the lowest responsive and
responsible quote.
Mohawk Ltd $32,450.00
North Texas Trailers -Fort Worth $36,199.00
inTech Trailers $39,738.60
This trailer will be used for the joint fiber project with GCISD. It provides a clean
environment for splicing fiber optic cables together. The specification meets all the
requirements and criteria requested by the Public Works Department.
Staff recommends approval.
