APPROVAL OF AN INFORMAL REQUEST FOR QUOTE FOR A
CEMENT SILO
City Council to consider approval of an informal request for quote for a cement silo for
the Public Works Department from Belgrade Steel Tank Co., Inc.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funds for this purchase have been established in account 116-48860-535-1 and 200-
48860-530-1 (Machinery, Equipment and Implement Fund) in the amount not to exceed
$27,040.00.
Informal quotes were taken in accordance with City Purchasing Policy. Formal bids and
advertisements are not required for purchases under $50,000. Three vendors submitted
quotations as noted below. Belgrade Steel Tank Co., Inc. submitted the lowest
responsive and responsible quote.
Belgrade Steel Tank Co., Inc. $27,040.00
Cementech $28,147.00
Zimmerman Industries, Inc. $28,243.00
This silo purchase is for use between Public Works Streets, Public Works Traffic, Storm
Drain and Water Utilities Department to store and dispense cement into the volumetric
mixer truck that will be used for small yardage concrete repairs. This equipment was
approved in the FY 2015 Budget. The specification meets all the requirements and
criteria requested by the Public Works Department.
Staff recommends approval.
