CONSIDERATION OF THE MINUTES
Consider approval of the minutes of the October 18, 2012 meeting and take any necessary action.

The Golf Course Advisory Board of the City of Grapevine, Texas met in regular session on this
18th day of April 2013 at 5:00 p.m. at the Grapevine Golf Course, 3800 Fairway Drive, with the
following members present:

CALL TO ORDER
Danny Langley called the meeting to order at 5:06 p.m.
CITIZEN COMMENTS
There were no citizen comments.
ITEM 1— DFW GOLF SHOW BOOTH RECAP
Russell Pulley stated that the Grapevine Golf Course had a booth in the DFW Golf Show held on
March 8-10, 2013 at the Irving Convention Center. He and Walter Green were at the booth for
the 3 days. He stated that this was the largest show in a number of years with between 5,000 -
6,000 in attendance over the three days. He felt it was very beneficial and would probably
participate next year.
ITEM 2 — LOYALTY PROGRAM
Russell Pulley reported working with a company by the name of Five Stars that is doing business
with several businesses in the Grapevine area on a loyalty program. Still trying to work out
some of the bugs and the redemption of the points have not been decided as of yet.
ITEM 3 — ONLINE TEE TIME SHEET
Russell Pulley reported we are working on the possibility of an online tee sheet with our current
system. This would allow people to make tee times for 2 or more Monday — Thursday and for 4
on the weekends. Russell stated we are still working on some issues on the server side of the
program.
ITEM 4 — NEW GOLF CARTS
We received the new golf carts on February 27, 2013. Russell stated they could not have come
at a better time since the old carts were really having some issues.
ITEM 5 — REPORT ON JUNIOR AND LADIES CLINICS
Russell Pulley reported that the "Get Golf Ready" program would start in May and run through
the summer. There would be Junior Clinics on the 1St and 3rd Saturdays in the morning. There
would be Ladies Clinics on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays. There also would be Ladies Clinics on
Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
ITEM 6 — UPDATE FROM MERLIN TIELKEMEIER ON COURSE MAINTENANCE
Merlin Tielkemeier updated the Board on the maintenance that was being done and what will be
done on the course over the next few months. He stated that he was waiting on the weather to
warm up so that grass would begin to grow. He stated the crew had been cleaning out the native
and wooded areas. Rock work was being done around the ball washers and around the tee boxes.
He stated the bluebonnets were coming up and they would reseed themselves and we would see
more next year. John McGrane stated that kudos to the staff for all the hard work on the course.
Merlin stated the aerifying will be done in August.
ITEM 6 — GRAPEFEST GOLF TOURNAMENT AND BOOTH
Danny Langley and Gary Davis will be on the Grapefest committee for the golf ournament and
booth.
CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES
Tom Kormondy made the motion to approve the April 18th 2013 minutes and was seconded by
Gary Davis. The motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes: Langley, Davis, Capone,
Kormondy, Springer, Ruddick, Wall, Lease, McGrane and Pulley. Nayes: None
ADJOURNMENT The motion to adjourn was made by Shelley Ruddick and seconded by John
Springer. The motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes: Langley, Davis, Capone,
Kormondy, Springer, Ruddick, Wall, Lease, McGrane and Pulley. Nayes: None
