SUBJECT: WORKSHOP — ROCKLEDGE PARK
Within the next month, the City Council will be discussing and considering a long-term
lease agreement with the Corps of Engineers for Rockledge Park located on the north side
of Lake Grapevine. The current use for the park is day use.
The Council Corps Committee took a field trip to Kansas in November of 2008 and toured
two sports adventure parks and a campground. The Committee also toured a campground
in Canton, Texas in December of 2008. The Committee met on January 29t with a
consultant to discuss options for the use of Rockledge Park.
At the Council Workshop, the Corps Committee and staff will discuss:
1. The preferred options for Rockledge Park.
2. The preparation of a concept plan for the park.
3. The interim plan for the Park and the impact on other leased Corps of Engineers
parks on Lake Grapevine.
4. The Interlocal Agreement with Flower Mound to take over the Park's police, fire
and emergency services.
5. Water and sewer services to the site to be purchased from Flower Mound.
In closing, staff will present several Power Point slides of Rockledge Park at the Workshop.
