SUBJECT: CONSIDER APPROVAL OF THE INSTALLATION OF A FENCE
ALONG DOVE LOOP AT DOVE PARK
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council to consider the installation of a fence at Dove Park by Rustic Fence in the
total amount of $6,820. The proposed fence will be located along Dove Loop. Staff will
have photos of the location of the fence at the Council meeting.
FUNDING SOURCE:
A total of$6,820 is available in account 114-44686-312-2.
BACKGROUND:
This item was on the January 15, 2009 Parks & Recreation Advisory Board agenda for
discussion and consideration. Safety of the patrons utilizing the open space area along
Dove Loop was the main discussion by the Board. The Board passed a motion to
approve the installation of a four-foot decorative fence along Dove Loop and a couple of
fence sections going north along Sagebrush Trail.
Funds are available in the account above. This account was established to allow
businesses, organizations and individuals to donate funds to support Casey's Clubhouse
and improvements at Dove Park. Over the years, the Grapevine American Business
Club and the Grapevine Heritage American Business Club has donated a total of
$13,335 to improvements at Dove Park and Casey's Clubhouse. Other donations have
been received from local businesses and individuals, mostly through the sale of bricks
for the walkways.
Staff recommends approval of the purchase of the decorative fence from Rustic Fence
in the amount of$6,820.
