SUBJECT: APPROVAL FOR THE AWARD OF RFB 431-2015 FOR PANEL
PARTITION REPLACEMENT
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council to consider approval for the award of RFB 431-2015 to Hufcor for panel
partition replacement at the Convention Center.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funding for this purchase is currently available in account 179-79140-000 (Capital
Improvement Project -Convention Center Remodeling) for a total amount not to exceed
$96,594.00.

Bids were taken in accordance with Local Government Code Chapter 252, Subchapter B,
Section 252.021 (a) and Section 252.041 (a). The bid was advertised in the Fort Worth
Star Telegram on August 13 and 20, 2015. 583 vendors were electronically notified of the
bid through the eBid system. 26 vendors opened and viewed the bid with 1 vendor
submitting a bid. The bid was opened publicly on September 11, 2015 at 2:00 p.m.
Based on the evaluation by Purchasing and CVB staff, Hufcor's bid is responsible and
responsive and the bid price seems to be fair and reasonable for this type of project.
The existing air wall was installed in 1989. Due to its age and state of disrepair, staff is
requesting to replace the existing electrical operated wall with a new manual operated one.
Hufcor has satisfactorily serviced this wall for us for several years.
Staff recommends approval.
