Call to Order II. Invocation III. Citizen Comments Any person who is not scheduled o n the agenda may address the Senior Citizen Advisory Board under Citizen Comments or on any other agenda item by completing a Citizen Appearance Request form with the staff. A member of the public may address the Senior Citizen Advisory Board regarding an item on the agenda either before or during the Board’s consideration of the item, upon being recognized by the Chairman or upon the consent of the Senior Citizen Advisory Board in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, the Senior Citizen Advisory Board is restricted in discussing or taking action during Citizen Comments. IN ACCORDANCE WITH TEXAS GOVERNMENT CODE, CHAPTER 551.001 et seq, ACTS OF THE 1993 TEXAS LEGISLATURE, THE BOARD MEETING AGENDA, WAS PREPARED AND POSTED ON THIS 30 DAY OF SEPTEMBER 2022 AT 5:00 P.M. ______________________________________ Chris Smith, Director of Parks & Recreation CITY OF GRAPEVINE COUNTY OF TARRANT STATE OF TEXAS The City of Grapevine Parks & Recreation Senior Citizens Advisory Board met October 4, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. in The REC of Grapevine, 1175 Municipal Way, Grapevine, Texas with the following members present, to -wit: MEMBERS Pam Price Carey Miller Tena Burrell Jan Ramsey Nancy Hauske Ray Harris ABSENT Roger Jones Isabell Boyd LIAISONS Teri Rhodes- Cantu Duff O'Dell Christine Szymaszek Constituting a quorum with the following members of City staff: Chris Smith, Deputy Director Trent Kelley, Recreation Manager Lara Brown, Administrative Manager Nadia Gentry, Active Adults Supervisor Erin Burke, Event Production Manager Tena Burrell called the meeting to order at 1:03 P.M. The new Senior Advisory Board members were introduced by Tena Burrell. A moment of silence was observed followed by invocation led by Chris Smith. Citizen Comments: None Aooroval of Minutes: A motion was made to approve the July 5, 2022 minutes. Motion: Rhodes -Cantu Second: Miller Ayes: Price, Miller, Burrell, Ramsey, Hauske, Harris, Rhodes -Cantu, O'Dell, Szymaszek Nays: None Absent: Jones, Boyd Presentations: Nadia Gentry provided an update on Active Adults. Updates included the Senior Services Alliance October meeting presentation and Active Adult field trips, programs, and the annual Active Adult Christmas party. Chris Smith provided an update on Parks & Recreation staffing. Updates included Director, Deputy Director, Assistant Director Park Operations, and the introduction of Erin Burke, the new Event Production Manager. Miscellaneous: Duff O'Dell provided a City Council update, which included National Night Out, Christmas planning, new businesses, and the Historical Society Banquet. Teri Rhodes- Cantu provided a Housing Authority update, which included the housing waiting list, move outs, and transfers. Christine Szymaszek provided a GRACE update, which included GrapeFest, GRACE senior grocery delivery, GRACE Friendly Visitor needs, Christmas Spirit gift deliveries, GRACE Food Pantry needs, and Christmas Cottage. Isabelle Boyd was absent; therefore, no Active Adults Laison update was given. Chris Smith and Trent Kelley provided an update on Parks & Recreation. Trent's updates included Chicken N Pickle opening date, Club All -Access, Texas Workforce Commission, World Water Park Conference, National Recreation and Park Association Conference, Texas Municipal League Conference, and the library voting location. Chris' updates included Jones Branch Park, Grapevine Garden Club 90th Anniversary, Day Out with Thomas, Butterly Flutterby, Walk to End Alsheimer's, Veteran's Day Parade and Fair, Nutcracker performances, and Fall Round Up. Tena Burrell announced thatshe is moving and therefore this was her last meeting as a Senior Advisory Board member. Adiourn: A motion was made to adjourn the meeting at 2:08 P.M.
