MOVE -IN BUILDING REQUEST MIB06-01
Staff recommends the City Council consider a resolution authorizing approval of Move -In
Building Request M1606-01, for property located at 730 East Worth Street, filed by Faith
Christian School, and take any necessary action.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
This application was submitted by Ed Smith, representing Faith Christian School. The
request is to move three prefabricated classroom buildings to the site. This property is
zoned "GU" Governmental Use. It is anticipated that these buildings will be used during
the construction phase of the new school facility on Dallas Road. During the final phase
of construction of the Dallas Road project, both the existing and new portable
classrooms will be moved to Dallas Road (a new move -in building permit will be required
for the relocation). It is the intention of Faith Christian that all portable classroom
buildings will be relocated to Dallas Road in four to five years. Plans and building permit
applications have been submitted, as well as all other submittal documents as required
by Chapter 7 of the Grapevine Code of Ordinances. The Building Inspection Department
will ensure that all aspects of the construction comply with adopted codes and
ordinances.

Dear Mayor Tate and Council Members:
This letter is to bring you up-to-date on the development at Faith Christian School. First,
allow me to express my gratitude to the Council in supporting our vision for Dallas Road.
Additionally, the City staff has worked diligently to assist us in the process. We look
forward to our continued efforts as we further develop both campuses.
As you may be aware, we have a request pending the July 18 council meeting for the
approval of portable classrooms at 730 E. Worth Street. These 24' x 64' standard classroom
buildings are manufactured by Ramtech, the same manufacturer as is used by the school
districts. This will enable us to facilitate program expansion over the next few years while
construction is underway on Dallas Road. Our plan would be to relocate the portables to
Dallas Road to be used during the final phase "classroom addition" for grades 9-12. We
would also relocate the existing three portables so that the optimal plan for us would be
"portable free" in our present neighborhood in four to five years.
We are pleased to announce that we have just over $4,000,000 committed in our capital
campaign for our construction on Dallas Road. We are currently working with construction
documents and projecting income time lines to determine an actual start date for the
construction.

RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF
A PERMIT AUTHORIZING THE RELOCATION OF A
BUILDING; PROVIDING FOR A NON -TRANSFERABLE
PERMIT; PROVIDING A SITE PLAN AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, an application was filed to relocate a building on a particular tract of
land; and
WHEREAS, the building official investigated the application and determined that all
requirements of the Building Code and other applicable ordinances had been or would be
met; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager, or his designated representative, set a date for
public hearing about which proper notice was given.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That Move -In Building Application MIB06-01 was filed by Faith Christian
School to move -in three (3) prefabricated classroom buildings of approximately 1,536
square feet each at 730 East Worth Street, platted as Lot 2, Block B, Faith Christian
School, City of Grapevine, Tarrant County, Texas, is hereby approved.
Section 2. That said permit is not transferable and shall apply only to the applicant
heretofore mentioned.
Section 3. That said permit be issued in accordance with the site plan attached as
Exhibit "A".
Section 4. That this resolution shall take effect from and after the date of its
passage.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 18th day of July, 2006.
