FOR QUOTE TO PURCHASE TWO SLUDGE DEWATERING
PUMPS FOR THE WASTEWATER DEPARTMENT

City Council to consider approval for the award of an informal request for quote to
purchase two sludge dewatering pumps from Pierce Pump Company for the Wastewater
Department.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funding for this purchase is currently available in account 200 - 43370 -534 -0 (Utility
PCMF Fund) for the amount not to exceed $20,122.66.
Quotes were requested and received by the Wastewater Department and reviewed by
Purchasing. Formal bids and advertisements are not required for purchases under
$50,000.00. Three vendors submitted quotations.
Informal quotes received:
Pierce Pump Company $20,122.66
National Pump & Compressor $28,890.00
USA Blue Book $32,440.00
Of the three quotes received, Pierce Pump Company submitted the lowest quote
meeting specifications.
The Wastewater Department received quotes to provide two new sludge dewatering
pumps at the wastewater treatment plant. These pumps will move water to the new
splitter box to divide the flow equally between each treatment train and enhance the
treatment process.
