Any person who is not scheduled on the agenda may address the Senior Citizen
Advisory Board under Citizen Comments or on any other agenda item by
completing a Citizen Appearance Request form with the staff. A member of the
public may address the Senior Citizen Advisory Board regarding an item on the
agenda either before or during the Board’s consideration of the item, upon being
recognized by the Chairman or upon the consent of the Senior Citizen Advisory
Board in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, the Senior Citizen
Advisory Board is restricted in discussing or taking action during Citizen
Comments.

Presentations:
Megan Varner provided an update on Active Adults. Updates included upcoming Active
Adultfield trips, Texas Rangers Game opportunities, Collette Vacations, and upcoming
classes.
Carey Miller announced the Empowering Seniors Expo will take place on September 28
2t the Hurst Conference Center.

Miscellaneous:
buff O'Dell provided a City Council update, which included a July 4 recap, Grapevine
Baseball and Softball season end, the annual budget process and planning, council
boards and positions, GrapeFest and the August 5 Back -to -School drive.
Teri Rhodes -Cantu reported the Grapevine Housing Authority currently has a waitlist of
890 individuals with no current vacancies.
Jame Scott provided a GRACE update on behalf of Christine Szymaszek, which
included the United Way Beat the HeatAC program, senior monthly commodities, the
food pan try an d sen ior tran sportation assistan ce.
Isabel le Boyd provi ded an Active Ad u It La i son u pdate, wh i ch i n cl u ded a requ est f1i
more vol u n teers to assist with th e Sen ior Movers prog ram at Th e RE C.
