A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, APPOINTING A MEMBER TO THE
BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE
INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, it is necessary and incumbent upon the City Council to appoint a
Director to the Grapevine Industrial Development Corporation; and
WHEREAS, the Bylaws of the Grapevine Industrial Development Corporation state
that each Director shall serve for a term of six years, or until his successor is appointed by
the governing body; provided that if any Director shall at any time also be a member of the
governing body of the City, then the term of such Director shall never exceed the period
for which such Director is a member of such governing body; and
WHEREAS, all constitutional and statutory prerequisites for the approval of this
resolution have been met, including but not limited to the Open Meetings Act; and
WHEREAS, the City Council deems the adoption of this resolution to be in the best
interests of the health, safety, and welfare of the public.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That all matters stated hereinabove are found to be true and correct
and are incorporated herein by reference as if copied in their entirety.
Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Grapevine, Texas, hereby appoints
Council Member Paul Slechta, who is at least 18 years of age, and is a duly qualified
elector of the City on the date of this appointment, to serve as a member of the Board of
Directors of the Corporation, such service to be at all times subject to the powers of the
City under the Act and the Articles of Incorporation.
Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after the date of its
passage.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 16th day of February, 2016.
