SUBJECT: APPROVAL TO RENEW AN ANNUAL CONTRACT FOR
PAVEMENT STABILIZATION
City Council to consider approval for the renewal of an annual contract for pavement
stabilization with Nortex Concrete Lift and Stabilization, Inc. through an Interlocal
Agreement with the City of Grand Prairie, Texas.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funds are budgeted in account 174 - 43301 - 090 -000 (Street Maintenance /Capital
Replacement/Transportation Infrastructure Maintenance) for the estimated budgeted
amount of $100,000.00.
Purchases will be made as required and in accordance with an Interlocal Cooperative
Purchasing Agreement with the City of Grand Prairie, Texas as allowed by the Interlocal
Cooperation Act, Texas Government Code, Chapter 791 and Texas Local Government
Code, Section 271.101 and 271.102 and satisfies all bidding requirements.
The City of Grand Prairie, Texas solicited bids on RFB #12001 from which they awarded
a contract to Nortex Concrete Lift and Stabilization, Inc. on November 1, 2011. This
contract includes four, one -year renewal options. If approved, this will be for the second
annual renewal.
The purpose of this contract is to establish fixed annual pricing for pavement leveling
service for the Public Works Department on an as- needed basis.
The Purchasing and Public Works Department staff reviewed the contract for
specification compliance and determined that this annual contract would provide the
best product, service and pricing for meeting the needs of the City. Nortex Concrete Lift
and Stabilization, Inc. has agreed to renew the contract with no increase in pricing and
has provided this service to the City in the past with successful results.
Staff recommends approval.
