SUBJECT: RESULTS OF 2000 CITY OFFICER ELECTION
RECOMMENDATION:
Consider a resolution declaring the results of the May 6, 2000 City Officer Election for
Mayor. City Council, Place 1 and City Council, Place 2.
BACKGROUND:
There are 25,902 registered voters in the City as of April 6, 2000. The election was held
on Saturday, May 6, 2000. with citizens casting a total of 1 ,660 votes for the following
candidates:
Mayor William D. Tate 1364
Council. Place 1 C. Shane Wilbanks 1289
Council, Place 2 Sarah Cloud 729
Sharron Spencer 922
Attached are copies of the election results as well as Grapevine's voting history.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE
2000 CITY OFFICER ELECTION AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS. there came to be considered the returns of an election held on the 6th
day of May, 2000 for the purpose of electing the hereinafter named officials, and it
appearing from said returns, duly and legally made, that there were cast at said election
1660 valid and legal votes; and
WHEREAS, each of the candidates in said election received the following votes:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1 . That said election was duly called; that notice of said election was
given in accordance with law; and that said election was held in accordance with law; and
that the following named person was duly elected to the office indicated:
Mayor William D. Tate
Council Place 1 C. Shane Wilbanks
Council Place 2 Sharron Spencer
Section 2. That the said above persons are hereby declared duly elected to said
respective office. subject to the taking of the oath and filing bond as provided by the laws
of this State and the ordinances of this City.

its passage.
