Box 95104 Grapevine, TX 76099 Re: Conditional Use Permit Request- First United Methodist Church, Grapevine, Texas First United Methodist Church of Grapevine, Texas requests a Conditional Use Permit in accordance with Section 20., C., 5. of the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance of Grapevine, Texas for Lot 1, Block 3 of the First United Methodist Church of Grapevine Addition. The request is to allow for off-street parking within 300'-0" of the primary use located on Lot 1 R, Block 1 of the same Addition. This piece of property is currently zoned R-TH, and will be included in the same plat for the primary piece of property. First United Methodist Church needs this parking lot to meet practical parking requirements as well as the minimum required parking by the zoning ordinance. This parking could potentially be shared with the community during non-church use such as events at the proposed adjacent Botanical Gardens. This would provide a much needed benefit within this neighborhood. (11w We ask that you consider our request appropriately and promptly. Thank you. Sincerely, Jones C. Box 95104 Grapevine, TX 76099 Re: Special Use Permit Request-First United Methodist Church, Grapevine, Texas First United Methodist Church of Grapevine, Texas requests a Special Use Permit per Section 49., B., 14. of the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance of Grapevine, Texas. The request is to exceed the maximum height for Lot 1 R, Block 1 of the First United Methodist Church of Grapevine Addition in order to accommodate a new sanctuary, and a steeple at the main entry of this proposed building. This piece of property is currently zoned R-TH, with a height limit of 35'-0". We request a maximum height as defined in Section 12., 195. of 150'-0". First United Methodist Church is a local community church. The proposed sanctuary building is to be an identifiable landmark within the community. The proposed building is of traditional-type design and detailing. A traditionally designed church near the downtown historic district can add aesthetic and functional value to the adjacent district and historic neighborhood, as well as enhance the historic context of Grapevine as a whole. The steeple will mark and identify the main entry, and is therefore a vital element to the proposed design and the future of the overall church facility as a whole. We ask that you consider our request appropriately and promptly. Thank you. Sincerely, //j/t ones C.
