Maint...... $51,000.00 BACKGROUND: This contract will provide fixed pricing on an annual basis for pavement marking material for the Traffic Division. Bids were initially presented to Council on June 1, 1999, and subsequently awarded to ASC Pavement Markings, Inc. as shown on the attached agenda memo. This contractor has successfully provided this service to the City. The original contract was for a one-year period with an option to renew for two additional one-year periods. This is the second year of award to this vendor. A bid tabulation is attached. Annual contract expenditures will be limited to the annual budgeted amount shown below. FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the FY99 budget in account: 100-43480-415-3 General Fund/Streets/Signs............................$53,500.00 BACKGROUND: All bids were processed in accordance with Local Government Code, Chapter 149 S1, Section 252.041 and 252.043. Bids were publicly read aloud per the attached tabulation sheet. Notice to bidders was published in the Grapevine Sun and the Fort Worth Star Telegram on April 29, 1999 and May 6, 1999. This Contract is to establish firm annual pricing for various types of reflectorized pavement markings required for the Traffic Program. Bids were solicited from nine companies specializing in pavement markings. It is the recommendation of staff that the low bid from ASC Pavement Marking, Inc. be accepted for all items shown on the bid tabulation. This recommendation is based on cost and ASC Pavement Markings previous experience with the City's marking - requirements. Because there was a considerable difference in pricing between the low bid and the other bids received staff contacted ASC to insure their understanding and ability to perform to contract requirements. Traffic staff indicates that ASC is aware of and can perform to all contract requirements. Staff recommends approval.
