HERITAGE AVENUE PAVING IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
City Council consider awarding a construction contract to McClendon Construction Co. Inc.,
for paving improvements on Heritage Avenue, in the amount of $128,658.00, authorize staff
to execute said contract, and take any necessary action.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funds for City and Developer participation are currently programmed as follows:

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
When the 5.20 acre site was preliminary platted in June of 1998, City Staff informed the
developer that the improvements to Phase I Heritage Avenue were to be constructed
contiguous with the development of the commercial sites. The plat dedicated the necessary
right-of-way for this street and the turn lanes at the intersection with Ira E. Woods Avenue
(State Highway 26). Construction for the INB Bank Building (Lot 10, Block 1, DFW Business
Park) started in October 1998.

Heritage Avenue is designated as a Type "B" Arterial on the Master Thoroughfare Plan (four -
lane divided street within an 80' right-of-way).
Bids for this project were received on April 4, 2000. There were a total of seven bidders on
this project. The bids were as follows:

The contract schedule for the project establishes an estimated completion date of August,
2000.
