BACKGROUND: These vehicles, described in Exhibit A, are no longer used by the Fire Department and were scheduled for auction. Since our sister community in Mexico is in dire need of fire fighting equipment, the Staff has made them available for sale to the City of Parras. The Rotary Club of Parras spearheaded fundraising efforts in order to provide a reasonable offer on the vehicles listed on Exhibit A. The vehicles will be purchased for $12,500 and will be delivered to Eagle Pass for formal sale to the representatives of the City of Parras. Staff recommends approval of the resolution.
