HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem 10 - Wastewater Treatment Plant ExpansionMEMO TO FROM MEETING DATE SUBJECT RECOMMENDATION: HONORABLE MAYOR AND MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL "'/ ROGER NELSON, CITY MANAGER t/ AUGUST 15, 2000 CONSTRUCTION PHASE SERVICES CONTRACT MODIFICATION NUMBER 4 City Council consider approving Contract Modification 4 to the Wastewater Treatment Plant Expansion Construction Phase Services Contract in the amount of $41,468.83, authorize staff to execute said Modification, and take any necessary action. FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in 97 Utility Bonds — Account 200-48950-534-3. The contractor, PKG Inc., will reimburse the City of Grapevine $41,468.83. The contractor, PKG Inc., did not finish the project by the final completion date in the contract. Additional Resident Representation and General Representation construction phase services were procured by the City to ensure construction was completed as designed. Since the contract provided for liquidated damages in the event the contractor did not complete the project August 9, 2000 1 1 :15AM on schedule, the City will be reimbursed $41,468.83. Liquidated damages compensate the City for any expenditures that occur as a result of the contractor not fulfilling the terms of the contract.
