SUBJECT: APPOINTMENT OF THE GCISD BOARD AND STUDENT EX -
OFFICIO MEMBERS OF THE PARKS & RECREATION
ADVISORY BOARD
RECOMMENDATION:
The GCISD Board recommends that the City Council approve Mr. Mark Born, 3613
Grandview Drive, to serve as the GCISD Board ex -officio member of the Parks &
Recreation Advisory Board for a period of one year. Also, the Parks & Recreation Advisory
Board recommends that the City Council re -appoint Mr. Brandon Simon, 3426 Spindletree
Dr., as the student ex -officio member of the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board for a
period of one year.
FUNDING SOURCE:
The past GCISD Board ex -officio member of the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board was
Ms. Jeanne Hatfield. Ms. Hatfield decided not to run for re-election on the Board this past
spring. Mr. Mark Born has been appointed by the Board to serve in this capacity.
Also, the Grapevine Parks & Recreation Advisory Board passed a motion at the August
10th meeting to recommend the City Council re -appoint Mr. Brandon Simon as the student
ex -officio member of the Board. Mr. Simon has done an outstanding job serving in this
capacity in the past year.
