RENEWAL OF CONTRACT 20-1999 CONCRETE
CONSTRUCTION (ANNUAL CONTRACT)
City Council to consider renewal of a contract for the lowest and best bid meeting City
specifications to Randall and Blake as primary contractor and to E. R. Aslin as
secondary contractor per the attached bid tabulation to establish fixed contract pricing
for various types of concrete construction. The original bid tabulation is attached for
review. Annual expenditures will be limited to the budgeted amount shown below.
FUNDING SOURCE:
174-43301-090 Street Maint./Capital Replacement..................................$30,000.00
BACKGROUND:
Bids were initially presented to Council on August 17, 1999, and subsequently awarded
to Randall and Blake as primary contractor and to E. R. Aslin as secondary contractor
as shown on the attached agenda memo. The concrete work will be to construct curbing
and other work as needed by the Street Division. The current contract vendors have
successfully provided this service to the City. The original contract was for a one-year
period with an option to renew for two additional one-year periods. This is the first
renewal period.
Staff recommends approval.
