SUBJECT: GRAPEVINE MUNICIPAL GOLF COURSE CART BARN
CONSTRUCTION PROJECT CHANGE ORDER NO. 2
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council consider approving Change Order No. 2 for the Grapevine Municipal Golf Course
Cart Barn Construction Project in the amount of $104,805.00, authorize staff to execute said
change order, appropriate the funds for expenditure and take any necessary action.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funds are currently available from the Lake Enterprise Fund, Account No. 210-48840-341-2
Golf Course Improvement Project.
BACKGROUND:.
Change Order No. 2 is for the construction of the cart barn a golf cart staging area and
retaining walls. The retaining walls are necessary to protect approximately 30 trees, which are
located near the east end of the building. Without the retaining wall, it will be necessary to
slope the earthen material at the east end of the building. This fill would suffocate the tree's
root system and most probably kill the trees in the area. The Corps of Engineers has required
as few trees as possible be removed from the pro shop area. Funding for the construction of
the staging area is included in the budget for the second nine holes.
Adams Consulting Engineers, Inc., the Civil Subconsultant to the Architect for the Cart Barn
designed the cart staging area and retaining wall.
The contractor for the cart barn construction, ICI Construction, Inc., has quoted a price to
construct the above referenced improvements. We believe this price to be reasonable and
appropriate. Change ordering the construction of these improvements into the Golf Course
cart barn construction project will allow for a timely completion of this building.
Staff recommends approval.
