SUBJECT: CONSIDER AN AGREEMENT WITH EDWARD JONES
INVESTMENTS FOR THE ADOPT -A -ROAD PROGRAM FOR A
ONE -MILE STRIP ALONG TIMBERLINE DRIVE
RECOMMENDATION:
The Parks & Recreation Advisory Board and staff recommend the City Council consider
approval of an agreement with Edward Jones Investments for the Adopt -A -Road
program for Timberline Drive, from Mustang Drive going east one mile. A copy of the
agreement is attached for review.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Adopt -A -Road signage would be placed at both ends of the project. The estimated cost
for the signage is $100. Funding for the signs would come from the Parks Maintenance
Sign Account 100-43480-312-3.
BACKGROUND:
Through the Adopt -A -Road agreement, Edward Jones Investments would be required to
pick up litter a minimum of six times per year. The City provides the trash bags and
safety vests.
The Parks & Recreation Advisory Board approved the agreement with Edward Jones
Investments at the January 20, 2000 meeting.

CITY OF GRAPEVINE
The City of Grapevine will work with the adopting group to determine the specific
section of roadway to be adopted. Such factors as width of right-of-way,
geometrics, congestion and reduced sight distance of roadways may be considered
by the City in determining what roadways shall be eligible for adoption.
