TATE STREET PLAZA
RECOMMENDATION
Staff has received a request from Mr. John T. Evans of the John T. Evans Company
requesting a one year extension to the previously approved conditional use permit for
an 8,838 square foot retail building addressed at 1235 William D. Tate Avenue and
generally located at the southwest corner of Ball Street and William D. Tate Avenue.
Staff recommends Council consider the applicant's request and take any action
necessary.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Conditional Use Request CU99-05 (Ord. 99-46) was originally considered and approved
at the March 23, 1999 joint public hearing. At that meeting the applicant requested to
amend the previously approved site plan of CU97-28 (Ord. 97-70) for a planned
commercial center with on -premise alcoholic beverage sales, specifically to allow the
addition of a 8,838 square foot retail building. Bidding on the construction of the
building is currently taking place. See the attached letter.

Dear City Council Members:
On behalf of the ownership of Lot 4R Block 1 "Tate Street Plaza", we are requesting a
one year extension to our existing Permit. The project is currently being bid out to
various contractors and is moving forward. The development process has taken a little
longer than expected due to the fact that most' contractors are overwhelmed with existing
business.
