SUBJECT: CONSIDER AN AGREEMENT WITH THE GRAPEVINE
GARDEN CLUB FOR ADOPTING THE CITY'S TREE FARM AT
THE GRAPEVINE SERVICE CENTER
RECOMMENDATION:
The Parks & Recreation Advisory Board and Staff recommend the City Council consider
approval of an agreement with the Grapevine Garden Club to adopt the City Tree Farm
located at the Grapevine Service Center. A copy of the application is attached for
review.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Signage would be placed at the site and near the intersection of Scribner Street and
Northwest Highway. The estimated cost for the signs is $100. Funding for the signs
would come from the Parks Maintenance Sign Account 100-43480-312-3.
BACKGROUND:
Through this agreement, the Grapevine Garden Club would be required to perform
maintenance at the Tree Farm. The maintenance includes pulling weeds, pruning,
potting, fertilizing and watering trees.
The Parks & Recreation Advisory Board approved the agreement with the Grapevine
Garden Club at the February 17, 2000 meeting.

park to be adopted. Typical tasks include litter pickup, turf maintenance, flower bed
