CHANGE ORDER/DESIGN CONTRACT HILTON FORCE MAIN
City Council consider approving Change Order No. 1 for the Hilton Lift Station Force
Main design in the amount of $18,750, authorize staff to execute said change order, and
take any necessary action.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funds have been reimbursed by the Fellowship Church.

BACKGROUND:
Montgomery Watson Americas Inc. was awarded an engineering services contract to
design improvements to the Hilton Lift Station. During the design period the Fellowship
Church purchased the land surrounding the Hilton Lift Station and submitted a plat with
improvements that conflicted with the route of the new force main being designed by
Montgomery Watson Americas. The design was 99% complete and staff was preparing
to go out for bids for the project. The Fellowship Church requested relocation of the
forcemain serving the Hilton Lift Station and agreed to reimburse the City for the costs of
redesign.
The redesign cost is $18,750 for the engineering services. The original engineering
contract with Montgomery Watson Americas was in the amount of $180,000. The
change order and the original contract amount total $198,750. The Fellowship Church
has issued the City the reimbursement check.
Staff recommends approval.

AMENDMENT NO. 1
OF
AGREEMENT FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES
This is Amendment No. 1 dated this day of , 1999 to the Agreement
for Engineering Services between Montgomery Watson Americas, Inc. and the City of
Grapevine, dated 12 of August, 1998 (the "Agreement").
The purpose of this Amendment is to modify the Scope of Work to include the Engineering
Services specified below:
® Develop scope of work for the City's Surveyor to survey partial new route alignment to
existing contract and provide project coordination.
Design realignment of force main. Includes hydraulic analysis, preparation of 5 plan/profile
sheets, modifications to existing plan document sheets G-1 and G-2, and modification of
specifications.
As consideration for providing the Engineering Services specified above, the OWNER shall pay
MONTGOMERY WATSON the Lump Sum fee of $18,750.
Except as provided herein, all terms and conditions of the Agreement, remain unchanged and
in full force and effect.
