APPROVAL OF A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE
PURCHASE OF WEB DESIGN SERVICES
City Council to consider a resolution authorizing the purchase of web design services
from Castlemark Consulting in the amount of $36,850.00. A bid tabulation is attached for
review.
FUNDING SOURCE:
115-44540-350-1 C&VB Fund/Administration/Operating Supplies........... $36,850.00
BACKGROUND:
This purchase will be made as a professional service under Texas Government Code,
Chapter 252, Section 252.022 (a) (4).
In accordance with the above referenced Texas Government Code professional services
are exempt from sealed bidding requirements. Therefore, Staff solicited three written
quotations for this service.
This redesign of the CVB site is being done in conjunction with the redesign of the City's
general site. Both web pages will be hyperlinked to each other. The service will include
web site navigation layout, database functionality, and page design that will feature
items such as the Tarantula Train, Opryland and Historic Downtown Shopping.
Castlemark was established in 1994. Their customer base includes such companies as
Bank of America, Boy Scouts of America, City of Denton, and the Dallas Morning News.
Staff recommends approval.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF
WEB DESIGN SERVICES AS A PROFESSIONAL SERVICE
AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR HIS
DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE SAID CONTRACTS AND
DOCUMENTS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine, Texas, pursuant to the authority granted by
Texas Government Code, Chapter 252, Section 252.022 (a) (4) desires to purchase web
design services as a professional service.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That all of the above premises are found to be true and correct and
are incorporated into the body of this resolution as if copied in their entirety.
Section 2. That the City Council authorizes the purchase of web design services
as a professional service from Castlemark Consulting in the amount of $36,850.00.
Section 3. That the City Manager, or his designee, is authorized to take all steps
necessary to consummate the purchase of the web design services.
Section 4. That this resolution shall take effect from and after the date of its
passage.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 18th day of April, 2000.
