APPROVAL OF A RESOLUTION FOR THE PURCHASE OF
CHILDREN'S FURNITURE FOR THE LIBRARY EXPANSION
PROJECT
City Council to consider approval of a resolution to declare the Libra -Tech Corporation
as sole distributor for the Midlands Company that is the sole source provider for
Children's Furniture in conjunction with the Library Expansion Project. The total
expenditure for the furniture will not to exceed $22,812.56
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funds for this project are available in account 177-442281-012-313 2000 General
Obligation Bonds/Library/Minor Tools and Apparatus
BACKGROUND:
This purchase will be made as a sole source in accordance with Local Government
Code Chapter 252, Subchapter B, Section 252.022 (A).
This request is for the purchase of various types of Children's Furniture as listed in
Exhibit "A" as a part of the Library Expansion Project. The Libra -Tech Corporation is the
sole distributor of the Midlands Company furniture line. The Midlands Company
produces a unique line of Children's Furniture for schools and libraries that have specific
furniture designs that are copyrighted. The specific design matches the garden theme
from the mural that will be highlighted throughout the Children's area of the Library.
Staff recommends approval.
