ADJOURNMENT L State of Texas County of Tarrant City of Grapevine MINUTES The Grapevine Convention & Visitors Bureau Board of Directors met on Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at the Cowboys Golf Cub, Grapevine, Texas with the following persons in attendance: Don Bigbie Chairman Ev Barnes Board Member Bill Brink Board Member Philip Cloud Board Member Kathee Livengood Board Member Paul Slechta Board Member Steve Stinson Board Member Mark Wasiak Board Member Darlene Freed Council Liaison Paul W. McCallum Executive Director ABSENT John Imaizumi Board Member CALL TO ORDER Chairman Bigbie called the meeting to order. APPROVAL OF MINUTES A motion to approve the minutes from the November 16th meeting was made by Kathee Livengood and seconded by Bill Brink. Motion carried. The GRAPEVINE VINTAGE RAILROAD REPORT, HERITAGE PROGRAMS AND PRESERVATION REPORT, and SALES AND MARKETING REPORT are combined in the attached printed report, which was distributed to the board. NEW BUSINESS Staff Awards Mr. McCallum introduced new staff members: Donna Love, Ana Canada, Adam Green, Nadine Rodriguez, Hank Henning, Charlie Whiteside, Charles Williams, Ross Bannister, Diane Mackres, Bruce Dalton, Jean Buchana, Ashlee Van Blarcom, Barry Lewis, and Paul Corless. Don Bigbie, Darlene Freed and Mayor Tate assisted with the award presentations. Director's awards went to Adam Green, Heather Kisabeth, David Klemoin and Rickey ihry Board of Directors Meeting December 12, 2006 Page 2 of 2 Staff Awards cont. Farrell. The Rookie of the Year award was presented to Barry Lewis. The Joey Wilkins "Can Do" award was presented to Karen Davis and the Employee of the Year award went to Linda Fournier. Chairman Bigbie recognized the "seasoned" staff. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business to come before the board Bill Brink made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Steve Stinson. Motion carried. Sales missions conducted in Chicago, New York, Washington, DC, Denver, Los Angeles, Austin, Boston, San Diego and Houston. Trade Shows Attended: Professional Convention Manager Association, American Society of Association Executives, Texas Society of Association Executives, Meeting Planners International,Northeast Meeting Planners International, DFW Association Executives, Overseas Brats, Religious Convention Managers Association. TOURISM SALES 148 leads representing 8,950 potential room nights and $4.4 million in potential economic impact. 119 assisted definite bookings representing 6,230 potential room nights and $4.0 million in economic impact. 29 site inspections conducted. Trade Shows Attended: National Tour Association, American Bus Association, Texas Travel Councilors, Sheppard Airforce Base Travel Show, Kaleo Tours, AAA Houston, Vacation Fest, Fort Worth Travel Show and various Group Leader of America Shows. DESTINATION SERVICES 120,221 delegates provided with registration and information services. 875,638 brochures distributed. 156,952 guests welcomed at the Visitor Information Center 4,926 volunteer hours at the Visitor Information Center and the Museum 92,330 fulfillment packets mailed. SPONSORSHIP SALES Cash $390,950. In-kind $298,800.
