SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF BID 72-2001, BLEACHER AND SHADE
STRUCTURES (ANNUAL CONTRACT)
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council to consider approval of an annual contract award to Sun Ports International
to provide Bleacher and Shade Structures as required at City Park Facilities.
Expenditures will be limited to the annual budgeted amount for this service.

Funding for this purchase is currently available in account:
176-76110-001 Capital Projects/Parks Facilities ............ $37,000.00
BACKGROUND:
Request for bids for this procurement were sent to six prospective vendors in
accordance with Local Government Code, Section 252.021. Four vendors submitted
bids. Notice of the bid was published in the Fort Worth Star Telegram and the Grapevine
Sun on November 23, 2000 and November 30, 2000. The bid was also advertised
through the City purchasing web site. Bid forms were available for download from the
web site.
This bid establishes fixed annual pricing for the purchase and installation of bleacher
covers and shade structures on an as needed basis for various park facilities. The low
bid from Sun Port International met all of the specification requirements. Sun Port
International has performed satisfactory work for the City in the past. The covers and
shade structures were approved during the FY2001 budget year.
Staff recommends approval.
