SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF BID 80-2001, ANNUAL CONTRACT FOR
VEHICLE COLLISION REPAIR
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council to Consider award of an annual contract for the lowest and best bids
meeting City specifications to Classic Chevrolet as shown on the attached bid tabulation.
Annual Contract expenditures will be limited to the budget amount approved during the
budget process for this service.

315-43430-2 Fleet Management/Fleet Services./Motor Vehicle Maintenance ... $100,000
BACKGROUND:
Bids were taken in accordance with Local Government Code Chapter 252, Subchapter
B, Section 252.021, 252.0215, and 252.022.
This bid was advertised in the Fort Worth Star Telegram and the Grapevine Sun on
January 4, 2001 and January 11, 2001.
The purpose of this bid was to set fixed pricing for the repair of City vehicles that may be
damaged due to collision or other accidents. The bid was sent to five Grapevine vendors
with one vendor responding. After contacting each of the non -responding vendors it was
determined that Classic Chevrolet was the only vendor interested in providing this
service to the City. The bid is for an initial one-year period with an option to renew for
two additional one-year periods.
Staff recommends approval of an annual contract to Classic Chevrolet.
