APPROVAL OF A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE
OF GOLF COURSE HOLE IDENTIFICATION SIGNS
City Council to consider a resolution authorizing the purchase of 27 acrylic tee signs for the
Golf Course from Liberty Golf in the amount of $24,435.00.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Golf Course Bond Fund in account 210-42281-341-2.....$24,435.00.
BACKGROUND:
This purchase will be made as a sole source purchase under the State of Texas Local
Government Code Chapter 252, Section 252.022 (7) (D).
This purchase is for 27 acrylic tee signs for the Golf Course expansion project. The signs
are for a specific type of acrylic sign which are of German manufacture and which are
under an exclusive distribution agreement with Liberty Golf.
The Golf Course expansion and renovation project has continued on schedule with Phase
II opening this spring. The project budget included funding for new hole marker signs.
Staff has examined numerous types of signage, and recommends the purchase and
installation of these signs. They are a frosty clear acrylic sign which will allow for detailed
and color hole graphics which will identify the layout of the hole and locations of significant
hazards and distances from the tees. This type of sign will provide a unique look to the
new Grapevine course layout.
This sign design is recommended by both City staff and the Golf Course Advisory Board.
Smaller directional signs used on the course will be made of natural stone in a color which
is consistent with the color scheme currently in use at the golf course. The directional
signs will be purchased under a separate contract at a later date.
Staff recommends approval.

RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, MAKING FINDINGS OF CERTAIN
FACTS RELATIVE TO THE PURCHASE OF ACRYLIC SIGNS
THAT ARE AVAILABLE FROM ONLY ONE SOURCE AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE SAID
CONTRACTS AND DOCUMENTS AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine desires to purchase twenty-seven Tee Signs for
the Golf Course from Liberty Golf as a sole source; and
WHEREAS, Liberty Golf is the sole provider of the Tee Signs.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That all matters stated in the above preamble are true and correct and
are incorporated herein as if copied in their entirety.
Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Grapevine authorizes the purchase
of the Tee Signs for a total not to exceed the annual budgeted amount of $24,435.00.
Section 3. That the City Manager, or his designee, is authorized to take all steps
necessary to consummate the purchase.
Section 4. That this resolution shall take effect from and after the date of its
passage.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 6th day of March, 2001.
