SUBJECT: NORTHWEST AREA UTILITY ENGINEERING SERVICES
CONTRACT
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council consider approving an Engineering Services Contract with Cheatham &
Associates in an amount not to exceed $ 146,366.25 for the design of water and
wastewater facilities in the Northwest Area of Grapevine, authorize the City Manager to
execute said contract, and take any necessary action.

The City Staff have developed a proposed water and wastewater plan to serve the
Northwest area of the City. This system will serve the two planned residential
developments, the Ranch of Lonesome Dove, and the proposed golf course, as well as
future development plans for Meadowmere Park.
Staff has negotiated this design contract to expedite this project to meet service needs
of Cannon Homestead and the Four Peaks residential development as well as the two
prospective commercial developments.
The system includes:
• a wastewater lift station located near Foxfire Lane,
• a force main extending from the new lift station to the existing lift station at Kimball
Road and Meadowmere Park Road # 4, and
• a 12" and 8" water line to complete the water loop of the 8" line constructed in the
mid 90's with CDBG funds.
The cost will be distributed between the four prospective developments, Cannon
Homestead Partnership, Four Peaks Development Corporation, Lonesome Dove Joint
Venture, The Ranch of Lonesome Dove and the City's future development of
Meadowmere Park.
The Engineering Services Contract includes geotechnical services necessary for the
design of the facilities and the preparation of an Environmental Assessment if required
by the Corps of Engineers. These two elements of the contract fall under Special
Services and are billed as needed.
Staff recommends approval.

NW Annexed Area Distribution Lines
The construction of an approximate 13,900 L.F. of 8" and 12" water line through Meadowmere Park to connect with a
new 8" line constructed under the federally funded Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program. This
will provide a looped water system for an area of town that was recently annexed.
