SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF A RESOLUTION FOR THE SALE OF SURPLUS
PROPERTY
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council'to consider a resolution declaring the property listed in attachment "A" as
surplus and/or salvage and to authorize the sale of these items in a public auction to be
held on April 7, 2001.
BACKGROUND:
The City has ordered and/or received all fleet replacements authorized by Council for
this fiscal year. Attachment "A" includes fleet vehicles that have been replaced and are
no longer needed for City use based on the City's fleet replacement policy. This policy
considers age, mileage, cost of operation and/or life to date maintenance cost. Surplus
property will be sold through public auction on April 7, 2001 in conjunction with the City
of Carrollton and other metroplex cities.
Staff recommends the approval of the resolution.

Surplus and/or salvage property also includes miscellaneous items such as equipment,
furniture, accessories, computers, etc. that have been recycled throughout City
departments and have been deemed unusable.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, DECLARING CERTAIN PROPERTY
SURPLUS AND/OR SALVAGE AND PROVIDING FOR THE
AUTHORIZATION OF THE SALE OF SAID PROPERTY AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, it has been determined that the City of Grapevine, Texas is in
possession of items of surplus and/or salvage property; and
WHEREAS, the procedure for notification of the owners of surplus and/or salvage
property as outlined in the State of Texas statute has been met.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That all matters stated in the above preamble are true and correct and
are incorporated herein as if copied in their entirety.
Section 2. That all items described in Attachment "A" are hereby declared surplus
and/or salvage.
Section 3. That the City Manager, or his designee, is hereby authorized to
conduct the sale of said property.
Section 4. That this resolution shall take effect from and after the date of its
passage.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 3rd day of April, 2001.
