GOLF FEES
City Council reconsider their motion approving Ordinance No. 2001-25 adopted on April
3, 2001 to correct typographical errors in said ordinance that amended the Grapevine
Code of Ordinances, Chapter 16 Parks & Recreation, Section 26-32(A) relative to
Grapevine Municipal Golf Course fees.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The proposed increase will generate approximately $127,462 in additional revenues,
assuming 69,000 rounds of golf annually.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The ordinance approved on April 3' did not specify that the recommended change of
weekday rates would be effective Monday — Thursday and weekend rates would be
effective Friday — Sunday and holidays. This is in keeping with commonly accepted
practice in the golf industry. Also, the fee for practice range tokens should be $2.75 and
club rental $30.00. The revised ordinance in the packet incorporates these changes.
The Grapevine Municipal Golf Course last increased fees in January 1998. The current
schedule of fees does not provide adequate revenue to defray the cost of these
improvements and maintain an adequate fund balance. The fee changes below will allow
the Golf Course to continue to be a self-sustaining operation.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS RESCINDING AND CORRECTING
ORDINANCE NO 2001-25 ADOPTED APRIL 3, 2001;
CORRECTING AND AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2001-25
BY PROVIDING FOR AMENDMENTS, CHANGES AND
CORRECTIONS OF TYPOGRAPHICAL ERRORS TO THE
GRAPEVINE CODE OF ORDINANCES
CHAPTER 16, PARKS AND RECREATION, SECTION 16-
32(A) RELATIVE TO GRAPEVINE MUNICIPAL GOLF
COURSE FEES; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE;
PROVIDING A PENALTY OF FINE NOT TO EXCEED THE
SUM OF FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($500.00) FOR EACH
OFFENSE AND A SEPARATE OFFENSE SHALL BE
DEEMED COMMITTED EACH DAY DURING OR ON WHICH
AN OFFENSE OCCURS OR CONTINUES; DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE,
TEXAS:
Section 1 That Ordinance No. 2001-25 as adopted on April 3, 2001, by the
Grapevine City Council amending the Grapevine Code of Ordinances, Chapter 16
Parks and Recreation, Section 16-32(A) relative to Grapevine Municipal Golf Course
Fees is hereby rescinded and corrected by replacing and rescinding previously
approved ordinance adopted on April 3, 2001 and by approval of Ordinance No.
2001-25 as corrected and amended to replace and rescind said previously approved
ordinance.
Section 2. That the Grapevine Code of Ordinances Chapter 16, Parks and
Recreation, Section 16-32 (A) is hereby amending its entirety as follows and all other
chapters, sections, subsections, paragraphs, sentences, definitions, phrases and words
of said Code of Ordinances are not amended, but shall remain intact and are hereby
ratified, verified, and affirmed:
"W" Fees Established. Green fees for the Grapevine Municipal Golf Course are hereby
set and established as follows:
(1) Weekdays (Monday through Thursday fr):
(a) Regular Green Fee ..................................................... $ 23.00
(b) Twilight Green Fee (after 4:00 p,m.)........................... $ 15.00
(c) Senior Citizen (age 62 & above) ................................ $ 13.00
(d) Junior (age 18 and under) ......................................... $ 10.00
(2) Weekends (Friday through &atblfclays-ate Sunday) and Holidays:
(a) Green Fee.................................................................. $ 27.00
(b) Twilight Green Fee (after 4:00 p.m.) ........................... $ 17.00
(3) Cart, Club, Lesson and Range Ball Fee:
(a) Electric Golf Carts:

Section 3. If any section, article, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word in
this ordinance or application thereto any person or circumstance is held invalid or
unconstitutional by a Court of competent jurisdiction, such holding shall not affect the
validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance; and the City Council hereby declares
it would have passed such remaining portions of the ordinance despite such invalidity,
which remaining portions shall remain in full force and effect.
Section 4. Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be
deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in a sum not
to exceed Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) and a separate offense shall be deemed
committed upon each day during or on which a violation occurs or continues.
Section 5. The fact that the present ordinances and regulations of the City of
Grapevine, Texas are inadequate to properly safeguard the health, safety, morals, peace
and general welfare of the public creates an emergency which requires that this ordinance
become effective from and after the date of its passage, and it is accordingly so ordained.
Section 6. The fees in this ordinance shall be approved by the U.S. Army Corps
of Engineers and shall become effective on May 1, 2001 or as soon thereafter as the
remodeled front nine is open for play.
