AWARD OF BID NUMBER 206-2004, TEXAN TRAIL SIGNING
PROJECT SH114
City Council to consider award of bid 206-2004 to Tahari Enterprises for the purchase
and installation of highway signage under the Texan Trail Signing Project along SH114
in the total amount of $33,129.38. The bid tabulation for this project is attached.

The budgeted funds for this project are available in the following account:
173-72115-0001 (TIF #2 CIP Gaylord Texan Resort/City-Misc. Expenses) ... $40,000
BACKGROUND:
Bids were taken in accordance with Local Government Code Chapter 252, Subchapter
B, Section 252.021 (a) and Section 252.041 (a). The bid advertisement was posted in
the Grapevine Sun on September 30, 2004 and October 7, 2004. Bid documents and
plans were issued to nine contractors with two contractors responding.
The purpose of this bid is to establish competitive pricing for the replacement, purchase
and installation of five highway signs as a part of the Texan Trail Signing Project along
SH114. Staff issued bids to nine qualified vendors for this service. Two vendors
responded. The lowest bid was received from Tahari Enterprises in the total amount of
$33,129.38. Staff checked Tahari's references and found that they have successfully
completed projects for TXDOT and other local and County agencies. Tahari met all of
the specifications and requirements for the project.
Staff recommends approval of an award to Tahari in the total amount of $33,129.38
