FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in account 178-78374-008 Capital Projects-Streets/IT Bldg. Renovations/CIP Streets -95 BACKGROUND: Bids were taken in accordance with Local Government Code Chapter 252, Subchapter B, Section 252.021 (a) and Section 252.041 (a). The bid advertisement posted in the Fort Worth Star Telegram on November 19, 2004 and November 26, 2004. Staff issued documents and plans to eight contractors. Three contractors responded to the invitation. The invitation requested pricing for the purchase and installation of a packaged engine generator system at the Information Technology building. As you recall, funds for the renovation of the old GTE building on Worth were allocated in this year's budget to house the personnel and computer server equipment that will operate the City's computer network and telephone systems. The bid specifications required a complete installation of the generator. Of the three responding vendors, Power Products, Inc. was the only vendor who offered pricing for both purchase and installation costs. Clifford Power Systems and Cummins Southern Plains submitted incomplete bids by offering only a purchase price for the generator. A tabulation of bids is attached for review. Staff recommends an award to Power Products, Inc. for the purchase and installation of the generator in the total amount of $43,600.00. CD December 15, 2004 (3:55PM)
