SUBJECT: CONSIDER APPROVAL OF A CONCEPT PLAN OF THE
FOUNTAIN AT THE BOTANICAL GARDENS AT HERITAGE
PARK
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of the concept plan of the fountain and $10,000 for the
installation of safety grating in the fountain. Staff will present the concept plan at the
meeting.
FUNDING SOURCE:
The City Council approved a $75,000 contract with Greenscape Pump Services, Inc. for
the design/build of the fountain at the December 21, 2004 Council meeting. Funds are
available in account 174-74015-072-000 St Capital Replacement/Heritage Park/Maint.
Projects.
BACKGROUND:
This item was presented at the December 21St Council meeting and there were several
concerns expressed by Council members regarding the safety and appearance of the
fountain. Staff and Council Member Shane Wilbanks met with officials from Greenscape
Pump Services, Inc. on January 5th and February 3rd to discuss the concerns expressed
by the Council at the December 21St meeting. The concept plan of the fountain that will
be presented at the meeting addresses the concerns expressed by the Council.
