1 . City Council to conduct a closed session relative to:
A. Personnel relative to City Manager under Section 551 .074, Texas
Government Code.
City Council to reconvene in open session and take any necessary action
relative to personnel Section 551 .074, Texas Government Code.

CITY OF GRAPEVINE
The City Council of the City of Grapevine, Texas met in Special Session (Executive
Session) on this the 8th day of April, 1997 at 7:30 p.m. in the City Council
Conference Room, Second Floor, 200 South Main Street with the following members
present to-wit:
William D. Tate Mayor
Ted R. Ware Mayor Pro Tem
Sharron Spencer Council Member
C. Shane Wilbanks Council Member
Jerry L. Pittman Council Member
Roy Stewart Council Member
constituting a quorum, with Council Member Clydene Johnson absent, with the
following members of the City Staff:
Trent Petty City Manager
Roger Nelson Assistant City Manager
Linda Huff City Secretary
CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Tate called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.
ITEM 1 . EXECUTIVE SESSION
Mayor Tate announced the City Council would conduct a closed session relative to
personnel regarding City Manager under Section 551 .074, Texas Government Code.
Upon reconvening in open session in the Council Chambers, Mayor Tate asked if there
was any action necessary relative to the closed session.
Council Member Wilbanks offered a motion that as a result of City Manager Trent
Petty's resignation, effective April 25, 1997, at 5:00 p.m. Assistant City Manager
Roger Nelson be named Interim City Manager. Council Member Pittman offered a
second to the motion which prevailed by the following vote:
Ayes : Tate, Ware, Spencer, Wilbanks, Pittman & Stewart
Nays : None
Absent : Johnson

ADJOURNMENT
Council Member Spencer, seconded by Council Member Stewart, offered a motion to
adjourn the meeting at 9:10 p.m. The motion prevailed by the following vote:
Ayes : Tate, Ware, Spencer, Wilbanks, Pittman & Stewart
Nays : None
Absent : Johnson
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE,
TEXAS on this the 6th day of May , 1997.
